SCHOOL ANNUAL REPORT -2014-15

“When you find a DREAM inside your HEART… don’t ever let it go… Coz dreams are the tiny seeds from which beautiful Tomorrow grows.”

Prologue

The Academic Year 2014-15 ushered us into one more evolutionary year with splendid glimpses of success. As an ISO certified and CBSE-affiliated school, GPS continues to sustain and uplift its quality standards in the field of education. Some important activities in the Year 2014-15 are highlighted in this report.

Our Vision

The following statement reflects the vision of our educational institution:
“We are dedicated to mould children into world citizens of tomorrow equipped with state-of-the-art knowledge, moral attributes, spiritual insight, dedication and love for the human kind through application of latest educational tools and personality development programmers in frequent collaboration with like-minded institutions. With international teaching standards, a team motivated to perform, and continuous striving towards excellence, we wish to provide an environment that leads to wholesome unfolding of a student’s potentials.”

MILESTONES: A shining feather in the cap…

Landmark achieved by GPS…GPS receives British Council’s International School Award

International School Award (ISA) is a global benchmarking project that recognizes the outstanding work done by schools that are committed to developing international dimension in the curriculum to help young learners become effective global citizens. Since the year 2004, 1000 schools have worked on towards the award. 296 schools from across India are receiving the Award this year.

Beautiful one year journey of hard work and dedication came to an end with an Award which motivates us to move on and on ……..

Some major initiatives in last few years were:
–          Complete ban on corporal punishments. Teachers are strictly advised not to punish, harass, hit or morally humiliate any child. The school rather promotes an encouraging atmosphere where students are invited to solve their problems, if any, with consultation. To this effect, the school has appointed a full-time dedicated Coordinator to give moral advice to children and help them avert unwanted behavioural patterns.-  The Counselling services were also extended to students in selecting their careers (i.e. Career Counselling) as we believe in the Baha’i teaching that each individual must engage himself or herself in a trade, craft or occupation and contribute to the advancement of human society. Vidyartha Professional experts of a wide array are regularly invited to address students and interactive sessions are arranged on such occasions to enable students to ask their questions and vent their career choices.- Women & Girls Protection Committee: As per the guidance of the CBSE, the school takes special care to prevent exploitation of women and girls within its institutional framework. The school will continue to imbibe the educational philosophy of the CBSE in the years to come.

ISO 9000:2001 – The Stamp of Quality

GPS continues to meet the criteria required by the International Organization for standardization (ISO). Ours was one of the first schools to have received this international. Some of the elements of in this respect are as follows:

–          Punctuality and regularity of teaching staff

–          Systematic lesson plan in each subject

–          Maintaining accuracy in checking CW & HW

–          Periodic re-assessment of quality standards

–          Regular internal audit of teachers performance
